Mumbai: Tata Sky, the joint venture between the Tata Group and STAR and Atom Technologies, a provider of mobile/IVR payment solutions have signed an agreement to offer phone or mobile payment solutions to over three million Tata Sky subscribers across India. Tata Sky is already using ATOM's phone based Interactive Voice Response (IVR) technology and will now start with Atom's new technology that will enable Tata Sky subscribers to make payments, subscribe or renew their subscription by simply pressing few buttons on their mobile phones.

Tata Sky uses two kinds of Atom's IVR services to facilitate their subscribers. The first is the fully automated IVR model for top-ups, where in the subscribers can directly interact with IVR for topping up their accounts. The second service used is an agent assisted IVR model for buying set-top boxes, where-in the customer can call the Call Center Representatives (CCR), who after exchanging relevant information from the customer bridges them on Atom IVR which guides customers to enter card details through the phone's key pad.

Atul Bansal, Chief Financial Officer, Tata Sky said, "Our association with atom Technologies for using the innovative Interactive Voice Response (IVR) technology will offer more convenience to our subscribers by providing them with additional option of making payments, adding top-ups and purchasing new Tata Sky connection."

"We are proud to be associated with Tata Sky for offering payments for their services through our platforms. We feel that customers will definitely get benefited by using our IVR and mobile payment services as these are completely secure and offer far more convenience than other channels such as web," Dewang Neralla, Director of atom technologies.
